“A seed’s glory is in its death.”
I heard this stated by a pastor this past Sunday, as we come to Good Friday and Easter. This statement came through a study of John 12 broadly, and verse 24, as Jesus discusses the necessity of the death of the Messiah. It struck me as profound, as it is a simple phrase with the truth of Life packed into it.
This points to the necessity of change in life more broadly; an appeal to not get comfortable with this life if you seek growth. Growth comes through death; death to self and death to desire. Risky things are sometimes the most worthwhile.
